Mother’s Day

The past two weeks have been busy for me and Tim. As you know from reading the last few posts Tim graduated from Ranger School on May 1st. The next day we made a last minute trip home to visit his grandmother who we were told would not live much longer. We are so thankful for the small amount of time we had with her over the course of the few days we were home. I have never known someone to be so at peace with leaving. Granny knew she was going to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She sang hymns, cracked jokes, and told everyone who visited that she loved them. It was a blessing just to be with her then. She seemed to be doing better, so Tim and I made our journey back to Alabama on a Tuesday. Thursday his mom called to let us know that Granny had passed away in her sleep. She was an amazing Godly woman who left behind a long legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Tim and I left for home immediately after my wedding on Saturday and we spent the next few days with family and friends honoring his Granny’s life. Thank you all for your prayers for Granny over the last few months and for your prayers in the days to come. Tim and I love and appreciate you all!

Tim and I grew up in the same hometown so it was also a blessing that I was able to visit my Mom while we were there. I don’t know what I would do without her. She’s unlike any other and I’m so thankful to have her in my life! Mama, I’ve already told you in person, but Happy Mother’s Day! :) I love you!!!
