These past few weeks have been filled with shooting weddings, engagement sessions, family sessions, backing up files, editing photos, making CD’s, mailing information to clients, answering emails, multiple phone conversations…and the list goes on and on. I just had to stop in the middle of all this today and be thankful. I’m so thankful for my supportive husband and family who encourage me daily. I’m so thankful to wake up every morning to a job that I love. I’m so thankful to have amazing clients to who trust my vision and allow me creative freedom. I’m so thankful for all of the blessings in my life. Even when it gets hectic and I feel like I’m running on empty, I remember how incredibly blessed I am.
This year for Thanksgiving it will be just Tim and I celebrating here in our home. We will miss our families in Virginia (and can’t wait to see the for Christmas!), but I’m thankful to have him home this year to celebrate. Our first Thanksgiving as a married couple was spent with just the two of us in our first home all the way in Ft. Lewis, WA. We were thousands of miles from our hometown and it was so odd for me to spend that day with just him. I was used to a big family celebration with lots of family and food galore. Then the next year he was deployed to Iraq and it was odd for me not having him there. It’s funny how you grow up and all of a sudden everything changes. This year I’m content celebrating with my husband, our dogs, and a little turkey for two…with lots of brown gravy of course! :)
What are you thankful for this year?
