I was incredibly honored when Cara contacted me to shoot her wedding. I’ve known her since high school because she is the sister of one of my best friends. I have always thought she was incredibly beautiful and so sweet. Cara met Tim in a lab class while they were both students at Virginia Tech and their love grew from there. I had not met Tim before the wedding, but I knew if he was marrying someone like Cara, then he had to be a great guy! They are incredibly gracious and kind people and their wedding was nothing short of fabulous. We started the day off with formal shots of the guys and then the girls since Cara and Tim decided to wait until the ceremony to see each other. The wedding was entirely Virginia Tech! They were married at War Memorial Chapel on Virginia Tech’s campus and their reception followed at the new Holtzman Alumni Center. At the reception they made their appearance with all the guests jumping to “Enter Sandman” (the Metallica song that is played at the start of every football game), danced to the “Hokie Pokie”, used a book full of campus photos for everyone to sign, and in lieu of traditional favors donated money to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund in honor of their guests. Congratulations Cara and Tim and thank you for choosing me to document your amazing wedding! Go Hokies! ;) (My awesome husband Tim second shot this wedding with me and some of these images are his. **Current/future brides – Cara and Tim gave me a full 45 minutes for photos of the two of them. It makes such a difference to have time for photos of yourselves alone on your wedding day!
